Survey Report on the Perceptions of Public High School Students in Jakarta and Bandung Regarding Tolerance (Indonesian)

Summary
This document is a presentation of the Survey Report published by the SETARA Institute on March 30, 2015, titled “Survey Report on the Perceptions of Public High School Students in Jakarta and Bandung Regarding Tolerance”. This report presents quantitative findings based on a survey of 684 students from 114 public high schools (SMU) in Jakarta and Bandung to assess the level of tolerance among students.
This survey analyzes the demographic profiles of respondents and delves deeply into students’ perceptions of interfaith relations and their views on radical groups. One crucial aspect highlighted in this report is the mapping of students’ vulnerability to extremist narratives, as measured by their level of knowledge, views, and their approval or rejection of global extremist movements such as Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). This data serves as an early warning system against the infiltration of radical ideologies into the formal education system.
