Summary
This document is a legal, social, and policy research report in English text format (.docx) published in March 2017 under the title “Security & Protection of Ahmadiyya in Indonesia: Policy Tools to Reduce Radicalization Against Ahmadiyya”. This report was compiled through a collaborative research partnership between Farsight (See Far), SETARA Institute, and Fahmina Institute during the monitoring period from May 2016 to March 2017.
This empirical research report provides a comprehensive analysis of the security conditions, protection mechanisms, and levels of discrimination experienced by the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Community (JAI). Based on the results of field surveys, in-depth interviews (key informant interviews), and focused group discussions (FGDs), this document presents quantitative and qualitative data on barriers to places of worship, socio-religious exclusion in neighborhoods, public administrative services, and the actual experiences of violence faced by Ahmadi citizens. This research aims to map the roles and responsibilities of state institutions (such as the police and local governments) and propose policy instruments based on the mainstreaming of inclusion to curb radicalization and end impunity for perpetrators of intolerance.
