Summary
This document is a projection report or policy paper in e-book format published in February 2025 under the title “Business and Human Rights (BHR) Outlook 2025: 10 Priority Issues on Business and Human Rights in Indonesia”. This xiv + 41-page document was compiled and published through a collaboration between SETARA Institute and Sustainable-Inclusive Governance Initiative (SIGI) Research and Consulting.
This BHR Outlook 2025 report was prepared to map out the key priorities, challenges, and opportunities for accelerating responsible business practices in Indonesia through 2025. This document highlights Indonesia’s major normative leap following the enactment of Presidential Regulation No. 60 of 2023 on the National Strategy on Business and Human Rights (Stranas BHAM). To guide public discourse and programmatic interventions, this report identifies 10 key priority issues—ranging from the green energy transition, the protection of workers’ and indigenous peoples’ rights, the strengthening of human rights due diligence, to the establishment of grievance redress mechanisms at the corporate operational level.
