Optimizing the Role of FKUB in Promoting Harmony (Indonesian)

This document is a guidebook published by the SETARA Institute (Pustaka Masyarakat Setara) in August 2019 titled “Guidebook Series for FKUB: Optimizing the Role of FKUB in Promoting Harmony”.

This book has been specifically compiled as a working guide and strategic reference for members of the Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) in various regions. This document evaluates the dynamics, challenges, and obstacles that the FKUB has faced in managing religious harmony, such as in resolving disputes over the construction of places of worship and managing interfaith conflicts. In addition, this guidebook provides a more progressive framework so that the FKUB does not merely serve as an administrative tool of the government (such as by issuing recommendations for places of worship), but can optimally function as a mediator, a facilitator of interfaith dialogue, an early conflict detector (early warning system), and a protector of the right to freedom of religion and belief for all citizens in a fair and inclusive manner.
